"Tattoo You" was produced by The Glimmer Twins, a collaborative production team comprising Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Their combined creative vision and musical expertise contributed to the album's distinctive sound and success. Alongside The Glimmer Twins, Chris Kimsey, a renowned engineer and producer, played a crucial role in capturing and refining the Rolling Stones' sound.
The album was recorded at two iconic locations. The initial sessions took place at EMI Studios in Paris, France, known for its history of hosting numerous renowned artists. The band later moved their recording sessions to Nassau in the Bahamas, infusing the album with a tropical vibe and a change of atmosphere. These varied locations likely contributed to the album's dynamic and diverse sound.
The album's cover design and artwork were skillfully created by Peter Corriston and Christian Piper. Corriston, who had previously worked with the Rolling Stones on their iconic "Some Girls" album cover, brought his artistic talent and innovative ideas to "Tattoo You".
