Recorded at Lansdowne Studios in London during March and April of 1972, the studio setting allowed the band to experiment and refine their sound, resulting in a polished and immersive listening experience.

Artistic Marvels:

An album's cover is often the first visual encounter a listener has with the music within. The gatefold cover, a common feature in vinyl releases of that era, unfolded to reveal a captivating visual narrative that complemented the musical journey within.

Roger Dean's design prowess, showcased in the album cover, added an extra layer of mystique to the overall presentation. His distinctive artistic style became synonymous with progressive rock, and "Demons and Wizards" stands as a testament to the seamless integration of visual and auditory elements.

Transcript of the liner notes on "Demons and "Wizards"

Somebody left a space between our last American tour and our European trip and we used literarily every second to put "Demons And Wizards" together. Although the titles would suggest it, there is no magic in just a collection of our songs which we had a good time recording. Gary Thain, formerly of Keef Hartley, and Lee Kers-lake have "completed" Uriah Heep, and we are happy and excited with the kind of re-energisation that's taking place. We all want to say a big "thank you" to Gerry and to Peter and Ashley who shared our tribulations, and without whose help I would have nothing to write about!! Hope you enjoy the album, because your pleasure is our best reward and it helps us to "keep on truckin" Ken Hensley March 1972 Thanks to Mel, Dell, Todd, and.Pete for taking care of business.
