"Double Platinum" Album Description:

KISS's "Double Platinum" is a curious beast in the band's discography. Released in 1978, this double-vinyl LP wasn't a new studio album, but rather a compilation targeting the German market. Issued on the Bellaphon label with a catalog number of NB 7040, it combined tracks from four of their previous studio albums: "Kiss" (1974), "Hotter Than Hell" (1974), "Dressed to Kill" (1975), and "Alive!" (1975).

The most notable aspect of "Double Platinum" is the inclusion of "Strutter '78," a re-recorded version of their debut single, "Strutter." This new rendition features a tighter sound and updated production, showcasing the band's evolution in the four years since its initial release.

The rest of the compilation features a mix of fan favorites like "Love Gun," "Detroit Rock City," and "Rock and Roll All Nite" alongside lesser-known tracks like "Hard Luck Woman" and "Let Me Go, Rock 'n' Roll." Interestingly, some of the songs were remixed for this release, offering a slightly different listening experience for die-hard fans.
