Album Description:

The 1980 LP "999 - Singles Album" is a compilation album released by the English punk rock band, 999. The album is a collection of their early singles, including their first two charting hits, "Emergency" and "Homicide". The album was released on the United Artists record label and is considered a classic of the punk rock genre.

One of the highlights of the album is the track "Emergency". The song's pounding rhythm, urgent lyrics and infectious chorus helped it become a top 40 hit in the UK. The song was also covered by bands such as The Damned and The Offspring, further cementing its place in punk rock history.

Another standout track on the album is "Homicide". The song's catchy melody and sing-along chorus made it a fan favorite and helped it become the band's highest charting single in the UK, peaking at number 40. The song's dark subject matter, however, is a contrast to its upbeat sound, as it deals with the aftermath of a violent crime.

The album's success helped 999 gain wider recognition and solidify their place as one of the leading bands in the punk rock genre. The Singles Album was also influential in inspiring other punk rock bands of the era, and its impact can still be heard in the music of many punk rock bands today.
