Ten Years After is a British blues rock band formed in 1967. The original band consisted of guitarist and vocalist Alvin Lee, bassist Leo Lyons, drummer Ric Lee, and keyboardist Chick Churchill. They are best known for their performance at the Woodstock Festival in 1969, where they played the iconic song "I'm Going Home".
The band's first album, "Ten Years After", was released in 1967, and they quickly gained a reputation as a powerful live act. They went on to release several more albums in the late 1960s and early 1970s, including "Undead" (1968), "Stonedhenge" (1969), and "Cricklewood Green" (1970). They also released "A Space in Time" which includes their hit "I'd Love to Change the World" in 1971.
In 1973, Ten Years After went on hiatus, and Alvin Lee released a solo album. In 1975, the band reunited and released the album "Positive Vibrations" but the band was not able to recapture its earlier success. They split up again in 1976, but have reunited several times over the years for tours and occasional new recordings.
In recent years, the band has been led by Chick Churchill, Leo Lyons and Ric Lee, who are the only original members still alive. They have continued to tour and perform live, but have not released any new albums since 2007.
Alvin Lee, the band's frontman, died in 2013 at the age of 68. His death was a shock for the band and their fans, but the band continues to tour in his memory.
