1971 POLYDOR Records, Solid Red Record Labels
This album "Live Cream II" is the second live compilation album by the English rock band Cream, released in March 1972 by Polydor Records . This album contains six tracks recorded at various performance during 1968. This version has RED coloured Polydor record labels.
So, Cream's officially split, man. The holy trinity of blues-rock blew themselves apart in a blaze of egos and sonic fury. But before they went supernova, they left us with this scorcher of a live album. "Live Cream Volume II" ain't no dainty studio concoction, it's the raw, unfiltered essence of the beast, captured live in '68 across Europe and the States.
Picture this: psychedelic smoke filling the air, the stench of sweat and cheap beer, a crowd buzzing with anticipation. And then, BAM! Clapton, Bruce, and Baker unleash a sonic hurricane that could level a city block. This ain't no polite blues revival, it's a full-blown assault on the senses. Clapton's guitar wails like a banshee, Bruce's basslines rumble like an earthquake, and Baker's drums pound like a primal heartbeat.
This album ain't for the faint of heart. It's got the sprawling, psychedelic jams of "Deserted Cities of the Heart," the raw, primal energy of "White Room," and the cynical bite of "Politician." Flip it over and you get the epic odyssey of "Tales of Brave Ulysses," the iconic riffage of "Sunshine of Your Love," and a fiery cover of the blues classic "Hideaway." It's a testament to Cream's musical exploration, their fusion of blues, rock, and psychedelia.
Behind the scenes, tensions were brewing. The band's egos clashed like cymbals, and creative differences threatened to tear them apart. But onstage, they were a force of nature, a musical vortex that sucked you in and spit you out. This album captures that energy, the raw power and explosive chemistry that made Cream one of the most iconic bands of their era.
So, yeah, Cream's gone, but their music lives on. "Live Cream Volume II" is a sonic time capsule, a snapshot of a band at their peak, pushing the boundaries of blues-rock and leaving a trail of scorched earth in their wake. Crank it up, let loose, and get ready to be blown away.
