Album Description:

Alan Parsons Project's "Eve" is the fourth studio album by the progressive rock band, released in 1979. The album marked a change in direction for the band as they moved towards a more pop-oriented sound, while still maintaining their signature blend of rock and electronic music. "Eve" is a concept album that explores the theme of women, with each song on the album dedicated to a different female archetype.

There are actually two female models on the front cover of the Alan Parsons Project's "Eve" 12" vinyl LP. The models are reportedly Debbie and Lisa Dean, who were twin sisters at the time of the photoshoot. They were chosen by Hipgnosis, the design firm that created the album artwork, because of their striking appearance and resemblance to each other. Debbie and Lisa also appeared on the back cover of the album

The album opens with the upbeat and catchy "Lucifer", a song about the fallen angel that introduces the theme of the album. This is followed by "You Lie Down With Dogs", a moody and atmospheric track that features haunting vocals by Lenny Zakatek. "I'd Rather Be A Man" is an upbeat pop song with a catchy chorus and strong guitar riffs. The song challenges gender roles and stereotypes, with lyrics such as "I'd rather be a man than a slave".

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Damned If I Do", a song about a woman who is torn between her desire for independence and her need for love and companionship. The song features a memorable guitar riff and a catchy chorus that has become a fan favorite. "Don't Hold Back" is another upbeat pop song with a strong chorus and catchy melody, while "Secret Garden" is a lush, dreamy ballad with beautiful vocal harmonies.

The album closes with "If I Could Change Your Mind", a beautiful ballad with a memorable melody and strong vocal performance by Zakatek. The song is a fitting end to the album, with its message of hope and reconciliation.

"Eve" was a commercial success for the Alan Parsons Project, reaching number 13 on the US Billboard 200 chart and spawning two hit singles, "Damned If I Do" and "Don't Let It Show". The album is considered one of the band's best works and is highly regarded by fans and critics alike. It is notable for its innovative blend of rock and electronic music, as well as its introspective lyrics and themes.

The image shows the two women wearing scarves reminiscent of 19th-century farm attire, which creates a timeless, almost pastoral atmosphere. Their faces are partially obscured by metal mesh masks, symbolizing resilience, struggle, and the complexities of womanhood—central themes of the album.

The muted, earthy color palette lends a sense of seriousness and introspection to the image, while the metallic sheen of the masks contrasts with Debbie and Lisa's calm, stoic expressions, adding a surreal, almost unsettling quality.
