Frank Farian ( real-name: Franz Reuther ) is from Germany and was a top-producer ( and singer ) of Euro-Disco during the 1970s. In the early years he created several songs with a "black" sound , as he was unsure to promote these songs properly he recruited Bobby Farrell, Marcia Barrett and Liz Mitchell to form the disco band: "Boney M.". BONEY M's History:

Boney M is a legendary disco and pop band that formed in West Germany in 1975. The band's unique fusion of different musical styles, including reggae, funk, and calypso, quickly gained them widespread recognition and popularity. Over the course of their career, Boney M released numerous hit songs that continue to be loved and enjoyed by music fans around the world.

The group was formed by producer Frank Farian, who brought together four Caribbean singers to create a new sound that he hoped would appeal to audiences in Europe and beyond. The lineup consisted of lead vocalist Liz Mitchell, alongside Marcia Barrett, Maizie Williams, and Bobby Farrell. The band's first single, "Baby Do You Wanna Bump," was released in 1976 and was an instant hit, reaching the top 10 in several countries. This success was followed by a string of hit songs, including "Daddy Cool," "Rasputin," and "Mary's Boy Child / Oh My Lord."

One of the reasons for Boney M's enduring popularity is their infectious and upbeat musical style. Their music was characterized by its distinctive reggae beat, catchy melodies, and upbeat lyrics that encouraged listeners to dance and have a good time. The band's music was also known for its positive messages, with songs like "Brown Girl in the Ring" promoting unity and diversity. Boney M's music was not just limited to disco and pop, as they also incorporated elements of calypso, funk, and world music into their sound, making them one of the most innovative and eclectic bands of their time.

Another key factor in Boney M's success was the striking and charismatic stage presence of lead vocalist Liz Mitchell. Her powerful voice, combined with her vibrant personality and energetic stage performances, made her a standout performer and an important part of Boney M's appeal. The other members of the group also played important roles in the band's success, with Bobby Farrell's distinctive dance moves and Marcia Barrett's soulful voice adding to the band's unique and electrifying stage presence.

Despite their success, Boney M faced a number of challenges over the course of their career. The band underwent several personnel changes, with members coming and going over the years, and struggled with a lack of creative control over their music. Nevertheless, their music continues to be beloved by fans around the world, and the band remains an important part of the disco and pop music landscape.
