Album Description & Collectors information:

The REO Speedwagon "Nine Lives" 12" LP Vinyl Album with Gatefold Cover is a classic rock album released by the American rock band REO Speedwagon in 1979.

REO Speedwagon was formed in 1967 in Champaign, Illinois. The band's original lineup consisted of Terry Luttrell on lead vocals, Gary Richrath on guitar, Gregg Philbin on bass, and Alan Gratzer on drums. Over the years, the band's lineup would change, but Gary Richrath would remain a constant member until his departure in 1989.

The band's first album, R.E.O. Speedwagon, was released in 1971. It was not until the release of the band's ninth studio album, "Hi Infidelity"", in 1980, that they would achieve mainstream success. However, the band's eighth studio album, "Nine Lives"", released in 1979, was an important stepping stone in their career.

Nine Lives was released on 21 November 1979, by Epic Records.

The album contains nine tracks, all of which were written by members of the band. The opening track, "Heavy On Your Love," features a driving beat and powerful guitar riffs. "Drop It (An Old Disguise)" is a slower, more melodic track that showcases the band's harmonies. "Only the Strong Survive" is a hard-rocking anthem that features a memorable guitar solo by Gary Richrath.

Nine Lives may not have been as commercially successful as some of the band's later albums, but it was an important album in the band's career. It showcased the band's ability to write memorable hooks and catchy choruses, and it paved the way for their later success.
