 History of King Kobra:

 King Kobra was formed in 1984 in Los Angeles, California, by drummer Carmine Appice. The original lineup of the band included vocalist Mark Free, guitarist David Michael-Philips, bassist Johnny Rod, and keyboardist Mick Sweda. The band released their self-titled debut album in 1985, which received critical acclaim and helped establish King Kobra as a rising star in the hard rock genre.

 Over the next few years, King Kobra went through several lineup changes. Mark Free left the band in 1987 to pursue a solo career, and was replaced by Johnny Edwards. The band's second album, "Thrill of a Lifetime," was released in the same year and featured a slightly different sound from their debut album. This album was also well-received by fans and critics, and featured the hit single "Iron Eagle (Never Say Die)."

 In 1988, King Kobra released their third album, "King Kobra III," which saw the departure of Mick Sweda and the addition of guitarist Jeff Northrup. The album received mixed reviews, but still managed to gain a solid following among the band's fans.
