Liner Notes David English (News at Ten, Up-Side-Down in Cleethorpes Full transcript of the album linter notes Working for a record company can sometimes be a disheartening experience. Finding yourself up-side-down, paralytic in the Balls Pond Coco Rooms. Clee-thorpes every other night, looking for the next "Beatles" I can assure you is not the most enviable of tasks and makes you wonder if farming in Argylshire would not be a more soulful experience. Once in a while, however, from the mountain of tapes something original pierces your addled brain and you know that your endeavours have been justified. The answer came to me in the shape of Hugh Nicholson, Timmy Donald and Ian MacMillan, who together formed a band called BLUE. Each of their songs are different but all of them retain a certain distinctive quality that makes you wonder just what to expect next. Just listen to this, their first excellent album and discover BLUE for yourselves. DAVID ENGLISH, News at Ten. Up-side-down in Cleethorpes. |
