"Infinite Dreams" is a live single released in 1989 by the British heavy metal band IRON MAIDEN. It is the only single to be released from a home video, 1988's Maiden England. The performance was recorded in Birmingham, England in November 1988 towards the end of the massive world tour to support the album "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son". It is the final single to feature Adrian Smith for an entire decade.

"Infinite Dreams." Album Description:

Iron Maiden, the legendary titans of British heavy metal, have a reputation for delivering electrifying live performances. In 1989, they immortalized a moment from their epic "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" world tour with the release of the live single "Infinite Dreams." This release wasn't just a musical treat – it was a true collector's piece with its unique 12" vinyl format, striking poster bag design, and a special etched feature.

Reliving Maiden England

"Infinite Dreams" was the singular single released from Iron Maiden's 1988 home video "Maiden England." This video captured the raw energy and spectacle of the band's live shows. The single itself features a blistering live rendition of "Infinite Dreams," along with equally powerful versions of "Killers" and "Still Life." All three tracks were recorded at Birmingham's NEC in November 1988, offering a glimpse into the sheer intensity of an Iron Maiden concert at their peak.

A Design for Fans

The "Infinite Dreams" 12" single wasn't just about the music. The poster bag format was a visual feast for fans. Unfolding the album cover revealed a large, captivating poster showcasing the band in action. However, the true highlight was the B-side of the vinyl record. Instead of a traditional track, fans were delighted to find the laser-etched autographs of all Iron Maiden band members, making each copy a unique and highly sought-after collectible.

Adrian Smith's Farewell (For a Time)

The release of "Infinite Dreams" holds additional historical significance. It marks the last Iron Maiden single to feature guitarist Adrian Smith until his return to the band in 1999. This adds a layer of poignancy for fans, making it a testament to a specific era in the band's evolution.

A Treasured Piece of Iron Maiden History

The Iron Maiden "Infinite Dreams" 12" vinyl single is more than just a record. It's a piece of heavy metal history, capturing the band's live prowess, showcasing their commitment to innovative design, and even hinting at the changes to come. • Bruce Dickinson vocals
  • Bruce Dickinson – Vocals Bruce Dickinson, born August 1958, is the powerhouse vocalist who propelled Iron Maiden to legendary status. Joining the band in 1981, his operatic range, sharp phrasing, and commanding stage presence reshaped the group’s sound and ambition, defining era-classic albums like The Number of the Beast and Powerslave. Beyond Maiden, he built a parallel career as a solo artist, commercial pilot, author, and broadcaster, giving his legacy a reach that stretches well beyond heavy metal.
  • Dave Murray guitar
  • Dave Murray – Guitar Dave Murray, born 1956, is the melodic mastermind behind Iron Maiden’s signature twin-guitar attack. A founding member, his fluid, expressive solos and perfectly locked harmonized leads have shaped the band’s sound since 1975. His playing blends bluesy phrasing with precision and restraint, never flashy for its own sake, always serving the song. That balance made him a quiet but essential pillar of heavy metal guitar.
  • Adrian Smith guitar, backing vocals
  • Adrian Smith – Guitarist, Songwriter Adrian Smith is one of those players I always associate with Iron Maiden’s classic sound and its later revival. Joining in 1980, leaving in 1990, and returning in 1999, his melodic solos and sharp songwriting helped define albums from The Number of the Beast to Brave New World and beyond.
  • Steve Harris bass guitar, backing vocals
  • Steve Harris – Bass, Songwriter Steve Harris, born 1956, is the driving force behind Iron Maiden’s galloping bass lines and long-form, story-heavy songwriting. Founding the band in 1975, he defined their identity with ambitious compositions that mixed punk urgency, progressive structure, and pure metal muscle. Anthems like The Trooper and Hallowed Be Thy Name carry his fingerprints all over them, making him one of NWOBHM’s most influential architects.
  • Nicko McBrain drums
  • Nicko McBrain – Drums Nicko McBrain, born 1952, is the powerhouse drummer who has driven Iron Maiden’s thunderous engine since joining in 1982. His playing combines brute force with swing and pinpoint timing, giving albums like The Number of the Beast and Powerslave their unstoppable momentum. Before Maiden, his work with Trust and the Pat Travers Band sharpened his style, culminating in a career that redefined metal drumming.
