Album Description & Collectors information:

"Make It Up to You" was released in 1983. The maxi single was produced by Chris Tsangarides, who had previously worked with bands like Thin Lizzy and Judas Priest. The release included three tracks, the title track "Make It Up to You," as well as "Motormount" and "Metal on Metal, School Love"

The title track, "Make It Up to You," is a mid-tempo ballad that showcases the band's softer side. The song features lead vocalist and guitarist Steve "Lips" Kudlow's emotive vocals and a melodic guitar solo. "Motormount," on the other hand, is a high-energy, fast-paced track that demonstrates Anvil's signature heavy sound.

"Make It Up to You" marked a departure from Anvil's traditional heavy sound, showcasing the band's versatility and ability to write more melodic tracks. The title track received airplay on Canadian radio stations and was well received by Anvil's fan base.

The maxi single also marked the end of Anvil's contract with their record label, Attic Records. The band had been with Attic Records since their debut album in 1981, and the release of "Make It Up to You" signaled a new era for Anvil as they searched for a new record label.

In addition to its significance in Anvil's career, "Make It Up to You" has become a collector's item among fans of vinyl records. The 12" maxi single includes a bonus track, "Mothra," which was not included on any of Anvil's studio albums. The release also includes artwork featuring Anvil's iconic "anvil" logo.

ANVIL is a Canadian heavy metal band that was formed in 1978. Despite being one of the pioneers of the heavy metal genre, the band has never received the recognition it deserves, and its members have struggled to make a living from their music. Despite this, ANVIL continues to produce music and tour, and has a dedicated fanbase that appreciates the band's raw and energetic sound.

ANVIL was formed in Toronto, Canada, by Steve "Lips" Kudlow (vocals and guitar) and Robb Reiner (drums). The band's early music was heavily influenced by Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, and Motorhead, and they quickly established themselves as one of the leading lights of the heavy metal scene in Toronto. Over the years, ANVIL has released several albums, including "Metal on Metal" (1982), "Forged in Fire" (1983), and "This is Thirteen" (2007).

One of the things that sets ANVIL apart from other heavy metal bands is the band's DIY ethos. Throughout their career, the members of ANVIL have been completely self-sufficient, handling everything from writing and recording the music, to booking their own tours, and even producing their own merchandise. This independence has allowed the band to maintain complete control over their sound and image, and has helped them to maintain their unique identity in an industry that is often dominated by big record labels and media conglomerates.

Another factor that has contributed to ANVIL's longevity is the band's energetic and powerful live performances. Despite their lack of mainstream recognition, ANVIL has built a loyal fanbase by playing hundreds of shows across the world, and delivering explosive performances that are known for their raw energy and high-octane excitement. Whether they are playing to a packed arena or a small club, ANVIL always gives it their all, and their fans appreciate the band's dedication to their craft.

In recent years, ANVIL has received a significant boost in recognition and popularity due to the documentary "Anvil: The Story of Anvil" (2008). The film, which was directed by Sacha Gervasi, provides an in-depth look at the lives and careers of Lips and Robb, and gives viewers a glimpse into the struggles and triumphs of the band. The film was a critical and commercial success, and has helped to introduce ANVIL's music to a new generation of fans.
