The Steve Miller Band was formed in 1966 by Steve Miller, a guitarist and vocalist from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The band's original lineup consisted of Miller, bassist Lonnie Turner, drummer Tim Davis, and guitarist James "Curley" Cooke. Their debut album, "Children of the Future," was released in 1968 and received critical acclaim.
