Short biography on "Liege Lord" Andy Michaud, Frank Cortese, Matt Vinci, Tony Truglio started in 1982 the "Deceiver" band (a Judas Priest cover band), "Deceiver" was in 1984 reformed into "Liege Lord". Eric Larnoy was an American Graphics artists who has illustrated a couple of dozen Heavy Metal album covers during the 1980s, a couple of bands he has worked for are: CJSS, Liege Lord, Manilla Road, Steel Vengeance.
Album Description & Collector Notes: The year 1985 was a pivotal year in the history of heavy metal music. Many iconic albums were released, which would go on to influence generations of metalheads to come. One such album was "Freedom's Rise," the debut album by American power metal band Liege Lord. Released on Black Dragon Records, this 12" vinyl LP marked the band's arrival on the scene and cemented their place as one of the pioneers of the power metal genre. The album's third track, "Amnesty" is one of the standout tracks on the album, featuring a memorable chorus and a blistering guitar solo. "Rage of Angels" follows, with its fast-paced, galloping rhythm and soaring vocals. The album's fifth track, "Vials of Wrath," features some of the album's most intricate guitar work, "Freedom's Rise" received critical acclaim upon its release and helped to establish Liege Lord as one of the leading bands in the power metal genre. The album's mix of traditional heavy metal with power metal elements would go on to influence many bands that followed, including Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, and Stratovarius.
