Band Description:

The Sweet, also known as Sweet, is an English rock band that was formed in London in 1968. The band's original line-up consisted of lead vocalist Brian Connolly, bassist Steve Priest, guitarist Andy Scott, and drummer Mick Tucker. They were known for their distinctive blend of hard rock, glam rock, and power pop, and were one of the most popular bands of the 1970s.

The band first achieved success in the early 1970s with hit singles such as "Ballroom Blitz", "Fox on the Run" and "Love Is Like Oxygen" and had an impressive string of hit singles in UK and Europe, and their albums also charted in the top ten in the UK Albums Chart. They were considered as one of the leading bands of the glam rock era, and had a dedicated fanbase.

The band's success waned in the late 1970s, and original members began to leave the band. Connolly left the band in 1979, and was replaced by another vocalist, but the band was not able to regain its earlier success. The band has gone through several lineup changes over the years, with Andy Scott and Steve Priest being the only original members remaining. The band continues to tour and perform, and still has a dedicated fanbase.
