Boney M was Europe's best performing Euro Disco band
Album Description: |
"Boney M" is a German band formed in 1975 by producer Frank Farian, consisting of vocalists Liz Mitchell, Marcia Barrett, Maizie Williams, and Bobby Farrell. They became one of the most successful disco groups of the late 1970s, with hits like "Daddy Cool," "Rivers of Babylon," and "Ma Baker." In 1981, the band released their greatest hits album, "Boney M Greatest Hits of Boney M," on the Hansa record label. The album cover of "Boney M Greatest Hits of Boney M" is a die-cut design, meaning that a portion of the cover has been cut out to reveal the inner sleeve. The design features an image of the band members in a disco pose, surrounded by a rainbow-colored border. The die-cut reveals a second image of the band, this time in front of a stage with an audience in the background. The die-cut album cover was a unique design feature that was popular in the 1970s and early 1980s. It allowed for more creative and eye-catching designs, as well as giving the buyer a preview of the album's inner sleeve. In the case of "Boney M Greatest Hits of Boney M," the die-cut design adds an extra dimension to the album cover, showcasing the band's live performance side as well as their disco image. |
